Agents of C.H.A.O.S.: The Silent Gate
Direct-to-video animated movie (1989).The mythology capstone that tried to make the franchise enormous. Viceroy launched Operation Silent Crown: a multi-front campaign to force open the Silent Gate and claim Axis Prime. C.H.A.O.S. split across five fronts. The climax proved the Axis System could not be commanded. Viceroy was lost inside it. The Gate closed, but fragments scattered across the world.
Garrison
James R. Cole. Team leader. The line's command figure and moral center. Garrison carried the weight of leading a team into a war nobody fully briefed him on. The file card read like a man who earned trust by being the calmest person in the room when everything was on fire.
Skyreach
Main hero aircraft. The flagship. The aircraft that defined the line's visual identity and the toy every kid wanted under the Christmas tree.
Viceroy
Dr. Victor Emilian Graves. Supreme commander.Tenth generation of a weapons dynasty that started in the Thirty Years' War and found something in a Bohemian mine that changed its ambition from industrial to existential. Viceroy didn't want chaos. He wanted an end to unpredictability. That was why he was dangerous.
HELIX Echo Unit
Identity-replacement bioform class. The line's most unsettling concept in plastic. HELIX-manufactured bioforms built from records and signal protocols that could replace real people. The toy sold paranoia.
The Keepers
Keepers of the Silent Gate.An ancient custodial order descended from Builder civilization exiles, organized across millennia to guard the Axis System through fragmented knowledge, lineage succession, and the doctrine of the Silent Gate. At their peak: thousands of members. By the 1980s: perhaps 200-300, concentrated in East Asia, carrying two layers of shame.
Fragments Part 1: The Broken Map
Post-movie. Fragments discovered.Ordinary people encountered impossible geography: roads looping back, boats appearing in mountain lakes, black-green shards in stone markers. Trace identified the pattern: the Ghost Signal survived in fractured form. The fragments were pieces of route logic.
1986: The Fifteen-Part Saga
Wave 1B/2. Dale Harmon's creative gamble.Dale Harmon's major innovation: a 15-part weekday saga aired across three weeks. The Keepers entered. HELIX became visible. Viceroy was named. The Asterion Index was recovered. The franchise outgrew military adventure and became mythology.
