James R. Cole. Team leader.Fort Wayne, Indiana. Army Rangers, then Special Forces, then a classified program he was told was advisory. Garrison didn't volunteer for C.H.A.O.S. He was chosen because someone in the old Sector chain remembered his name from a report nobody else would have filed.

Steady. Led by being the calmest person in the room when everything was on fire. Dry humor at exactly the wrong moment.
His flaw was carrying too much alone. His arc was learning that refusing ownership of the Axis System was harder and more important than any battle.
The movie proved it: Garrison refused Axis Prime. The toy sold a leader. The story sold restraint.
