Fragments Part 5: The Last Fragment

Series finale. Distributed stewardship.

The fragments were self-organizing. Too many gathered together began recreating Silent Gate conditions. Garrison refused to centralize them. The solution was distributed stewardship: some sealed, some embedded, some watched, none owned.

Archive Notes

Trace created the first living fragment map. One that deliberately didn't show everything to anyone.

Garrison's final line: 'Then we watch the roads we can, and we leave the rest closed.'

Final image: Starwatch Station passing over Earth. Tiny lights flickered across the globe, then faded before they could form a pattern. The world was not safe. But it was not owned.
